Harry Kane’s ‘ultimate striker’ includes himself, Cristiano Ronaldo and… Peter Crouch – but no Lionel Messi
Harry Kane has built his ultimate striker including himself, Cristiano Ronaldo and some surprise choices - excluding Lionel Messi.
The Bayern Munich star can confidently call himself one of the best strikers in the world - if not the best - after his electric start in Germany this season.
But when asked by ESPN to build his ultimate striker, Kane was tasked with attributing eight players to eight different traits.
Edinson Cavani was chosen for movement, Kylian Mbappe for dribbling and Didier Drogba for strength.
Kane also picked Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney for his link-up play as well as himself for finishing.
Then some choices of is might raise an eyebrow or two with Ronaldo (Cristiano, that is) picked for his pace while Peter Crouch was selected for his heading.

England teammate Jude Bellingham was also selected for his work-rate - despite the Real Madrid star being a midfielder.
And Messi was left out entirely, much to the bemusement of some fans.
One replied: "He chose Mbappe ahead of Messi, and Neymar in dribbling, and then chose Peter Crouch ahead of Ronaldo in heading?"
Another wrote: "Mbappe over Messi in dribbling? Crouch over Ronaldo in heading?"

While a third put: "He didn’t even mention Messi at all."
In defence of Crouchy, he does hold the Premier League record for most headed goals - having netted 53 of his 108 top flight goals with his bonce.
Some other strikers that were snubbed by Kane include Karim Benzema, Ronaldo [Nazario] and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Though his Tottenham past might have prevented him from saying the latter, despite the Frenchman being arguably one of the best strikers in Premier League history.
But one point that cannot be disputed is his own call to make himself the best for finishing after a jaw-dropping start to life in Germany.
After signing for Bayern Munich from Spurs in the summer, Kane has settled in rapidly.
The 30-year-old has scored 21 times in 16 appearances, including four in four Champions League fixtures, as well as contributing seven assists.
