Jadon Sancho has reacted furiously to claims from Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag that he's not been performing well enough in training.

The England forward, who's struggled to settle in at Old Trafford, had no involvement during Man United's defeat at Arsenal on Sunday.

When asked why Sancho wasn't even in the squad, Ten Hag said: "Jadon, on his performance in training, was not selected.

"You have to reach a level at Manchester United every day and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected."

But Sancho has since hit back at Ten Hag's claim, adding that he's been scapegoated.

The 23-year-old said on social media: "Please don't believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue.

"I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't go into, I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!

"All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.

"I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!"

Sancho is yet to justify the £73million Man United paid Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021, scoring just 12 goals in 82 appearances for the club.

The player had some time away from the game last season, Ten Hag saying Sancho wasn't ready 'physically and mentally'.

But Sancho's fortunes haven't shown any sign of majorly changing, the former Manchester City starlet is yet to start for Man United this term.

He's been offered the chance to elaborate on the treatment he's received from Ten Hag by TalkTV's Piers Morgan, who conducted an explosive interview with Cristiano Ronaldo shortly before the Man United legend left the club for a second time.

Responding to Sancho's statement, Morgan said: "Hi Jadon, come on
@PiersUncensored and I’ll get you out of this Ten Hag nightmare."
