The unstoppable rise of Ludvig Aberg continued on Sunday with a maiden PGA Tour win.

Aberg equalled the lowest ever total in Tour history at the RSM Classic to win by four shots.

It is the latest triumphant moment in a remarkable professional career which only began in June.

Some tipped the 24-year-old to become golf's next big thing after an historic amateur career - but nobody expected it this fast.

For context, world no.13 Tommy Fleetwood is yet to win on the PGA Tour.

Swedish superstar Aberg has also won on the DP World Tour, formerly known as the European Tour, and in his last eight starts worldwide, his worst finish has been T14.

Not to mention, the new kid on the block was part of the dominant European Ryder Cup team which thrashed the Americans in Rome.

Aberg, who separates himself with an astonishing consistency off the tee, has not even had the chance to compete in one of golf's four major championships yet.

And that aside, there is still one thing the world no.32 wants to tick off his list.

Upon turning pro, the Swede told the DP World Tour: "In the next three years, I would love to win on the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.

"I would love to be top ten in the world and I would love to play in the Ryder Cup."

That means Aberg only has one job left on his three-year list of objectives: get inside the world's top ten.

It appears an inevitability for a golfer some have already compared to the great Tiger Woods.

Writing at the RSM Classic, PGA Tour journalist Sean Martin said: "A (real) conversation between two TOUR winners at Starbucks this morning:

"Player 1: 'There is no world where we’d be able to beat Ludvig on a consistent basis.'

"Player 2: 'I didn’t really know who he was. After playing 6 holes with him, I thought he was the next f***ing Tiger Woods.'"
