Tiger Woods has been sidelined since April following subtalar fusion surgery on his ankle to treat arthritis caused by his near-fatal 2021 car crash.

Nevertheless, the golf legend will play twice in three weeks next month after committing to the PNC Championship with his son.

It will be the fourth time Tiger and Charlie Woods team up for an event which has captured the imagination of casual fans.

Charlie Woods stunned viewers as an 12-year-old in 2020 with an incredible likeness to his famous father.

Now 15, Charlie Woods has since won serious junior golf tournaments and his progress remains a fascination in the golf world.

Tiger Woods barely competes outside the majors due to limitations on his body but the PNC Championship has become a regular stop on his calendar.

With a field of 20 Major winners playing alongside family, the event uses a scramble format, meaning both players will hit every shot and then choose which one to play next.

It's played across 36 holes, rather than 72, and Tiger Woods will be able to use a buggy, reducing the strain on his injured leg.
